Most crowdfunding platforms charge a platform fee (typically 3-5%) on top of standard payment processing fees. Ummah is different: we charge 0% platform fees. Your organization pays only Stripe's standard processing fee (2.9% + 30¢), and verified nonprofits can qualify for Stripe's discounted nonprofit rate (2.2% + $0.30). More of every donation goes directly to your cause.
GoFundMe is built for anyone to launch a personal fundraiser. Ummah is built for organizations. Donations on Ummah are collected by verified masjids and Islamic nonprofits and settle directly to the organization's own Stripe or PayPal account. You also get Zakat-compliant fund management, direct integration with your member database, and a trusted environment where donors know their gifts are handled with Amanah (trust). It's a community platform, not just a payment page.
Ummah's community features (member management, events, announcements, and the mobile app) serve communities around the world. Donation processing is currently available to U.S.-based verified nonprofit organizations only. If your organization is outside the U.S., you can still run your community on Ummah today, and we will let you know when donations expand to your region.
