Islamic school admins are managing everything, with tools built for nothing

Running an Islamic school means juggling enrollment paperwork, parent WhatsApp threads, cash tuition payments, prayer schedule logistics, and event coordination, all at the same time, usually as a volunteer. The tools the secular world offers were never designed for Islamic education management.

Enrollment forms in email, attendance in spreadsheets, and allergies in a notebook no one can find.

Important school announcements get buried in group chats between weekend barbecue plans.

Cash envelopes, e-transfers to personal accounts, and no clear record of who has paid what.

Science fairs, Eid parties, and open houses planned over text with no central calendar for families.

Everything your Islamic school needs to run with clarity

Ummah is the community portal a masjid-run school uses for its families, its calendar, its announcements and its giving. It is not a gradebook or a tuition ledger; it is the place the school and the masjid around it run from.

  • A real directory for every family, parent and staff member
  • Organize every school event, from open houses to Eid celebrations
  • Track every dollar that supports your school's mission
  • Searchable family and staff profiles with contact details and tags
  • Registration and payment per program, class or event, with a waitlist

Questions

An Islamic school management system is software a Muslim school uses to run itself: enrollment, staff, schedules, parent communication and fees, and often Quran progress. Ummah covers the community side of a masjid-run weekend school or maktab, the family directory, registration and payment through programs and events, announcements, giving and prayer times, and leaves gradebooks and tuition ledgers to a school information system.
Ummah is free to start for events, members and prayer times, with no card required. Basic is $19 a month, month to month, and includes a website we design and build. Advanced is $75 a month billed annually with a 0% platform fee, and carries donation campaigns, donor records, staff roles and the audit log. The platform fee on paid tickets is added at checkout and paid by the buyer: 3% on Free, 1.5% on Basic, 0% on Advanced.
A masjid management system runs the masjid: prayer and iqama times, events, members, announcements and donations. An Islamic school management system runs the school day: student rosters, attendance, grades, tuition and parent portals. Ummah is the first kind, built so a weekend school inside the masjid can register families, take payment, announce to parents and fundraise from the same portal the masjid already uses.
Yes, for the community side of both. The masjid runs prayer times, events, members and giving; the weekend school registers families into its programs, takes payment, announces to parents by tag and runs its scholarship fund, all in one portal with staff roles on Advanced. Academic records such as grades and progress stay in a school information system if you need one.
Yes. A weekend school, a Quran program or a part-time maktab is the typical fit: a few dozen families, a term to register and pay for, parents to reach, an Eid program to run and a scholarship fund to raise. Start on the free plan and move to Basic or Advanced when you need the website, donations or staff roles.
A board that runs programs in more than one place can run each as its own community on Ummah, with members, events and announcements per location and one login for the people who oversee them. Ask for a walkthrough if you run several schools; the Custom plan is for networks like that.
The same day for the basics: create the community portal, add staff, import families from a spreadsheet, publish the first program or event and send the first announcement. A 14-day guided onboarding comes with Basic and Advanced.
